A letter from
Carrie
The instigator
Dear Reader,
If you've spent any time poking around this site, you've met Willa: innkeeper of The Ledford House, keeper of the guest book, and the last person in Rosemont Landing to act surprised.
Which brings me to the part where I step out from the page. I'm Carrie, creator and author of Letters from The Ledford House.
I write the stories, print the chapters, fold every one of them, and carry the envelopes to the post office myself. What arrives at your house was made at my table. There's no warehouse. There's a printer in the next room and me.
I was born and raised in the Carolinas and still live here, out in the middle of nowhere, where the porch is quiet and the mail is an event. By day I'm a marketing director, which means my job is on a screen and everything is due yesterday. I wanted to make something that moves the other direction. Paper, ink, stamps, a story that's willing to wait for you.
The rest of my time goes to homeschooling my son, the garden, and a stack of mystery novels I'm always trying to solve before the detective does. There's also a craft and quilting supply stash I've stopped pretending is under control, but that's between me and the closet.
Every envelope has a reply card in it, and the address on it is real:
The Ledford House
PO Box 15
Society Hill, SC 29593
I open that box myself.
I'm glad you found your way here. Pull up a rocker.
